What credit score is Tier 2?
Tier 1: 800 – 850. Tier 2: 799 – 670. Tier 3: 669 – 300. Tier 4: beginning score of 300.
Tier 1: 800 – 850. Tier 2: 799 – 670. Tier 3: 669 – 300. Tier 4: beginning score of 300.
Most tier 2 credit arrangements are extended repayment terms that offer 30 to 90 days of interest-free financing. However, they can also be vendor-specific credit cards that let you accrue rewards for purchases with the provider.
Tier One – Considered exceptional credit, scores ranging from 800 – 850. Tier Two – Considered very good credit, scores ranging from 740 – 799. Tier Three – Considered good credit, scores ranging from 670 – 739. Tier Four – Considered fair/poor credit, scores ranging from 300 – 669.
Credit Tier | Description | Credit Score Range |
---|---|---|
Tier 1 | Excellent Credit | 800 – 850 |
Tier 2 | Great | 740 – 799 |
Tier 3 | A Good Credit Score | 670 – 739 |
Tier 4 | Fair | 580 – 669 |
While not as exceptional as Tier 1, Tier 2 credit is still considered good, indicating that you manage your credit responsibly. With Tier 2 credit, you can access a decent range of financing options and supplier credit, although the terms might be slightly less favorable than those offered to Tier 1 businesses.
A FICO® Score of 620 places you within a population of consumers whose credit may be seen as Fair.

F Credit Tier (below 520- 250)
This is the lowest tier on the scale and is also sometimes referred to as 5 Tier, E Tier, or Subprime Tier. People with this type of credit may have no good credit or a limited credit history.
In such situations, Tier 1 is the top level, typically referring to a credit score of at least 700, or sometimes a minimum score as high as 750. Basically, this tier encompasses borrowers with the best credit scores. Tier 2 typically ranges from a credit score of about 660 up to the lender's Tier 1 level.
What is a Tier 4 credit score?
Tier 2 Credit: Considered a very good credit score, scores ranging from 740 – 799. Tier 3 Credit: Considered good credit with scores typically ranging from 670 – 739. Tier 4 Credit: Considered fair or poor credit, with scores that can range from 300 – 669.
The base FICO score is also called FICO Score 8 or 9. It's not designed specifically for auto loans, but many lenders use it. It's a number between 300 and 850, and a higher score means that a person is more likely to make loan payments on time.
A 630 score is in the "fair" range. You may have to pay higher rates on loans and credit cards than others.
The typical FICO score for the A+ credit tier is 750 - 850 and is also referred to as: 0 Tier Credit (Ford Motor Credit)
The good news is that the average American is now part of Tier 1 under many definitions; as of the first quarter of 2020, the average FICO score for U.S. adults stood at 705. A typical Tier 2 range would be from about 660 up to that lender's Tier 1 level. And Tier 3 generally starts in the low 600s.
A perfect credit score of 850 is hard to get, but an excellent credit score is more achievable. If you want to get the best credit cards, mortgages and competitive loan rates — which can save you money over time — excellent credit can help you qualify. “Excellent” is the highest tier of credit scores you can have.
Second-tier lenders are a subset of 'non-bank' lenders who don't require a license from the Reserve Bank to operate. The public can't deposit money into an account or a term deposit with them, so they must raise the funding that allows them to lend money via other means.
A 720 credit score on the common credit scoring range of 300-850 is right at the border of “good” and “excellent.” In fact, when your score hits 720, you've just crossed over into the excellent score band. That's great news, unless your score was higher and you're worried about what a loss of points might mean.
Having a 600 credit score places you below the national average and into the “fair credit” category. Subprime is the categorization lenders use to designate the likelihood that a borrower will default on or pay back their loan.
The minimum credit score needed for most mortgages is typically around 620. However, government-backed mortgages like Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans typically have lower credit requirements than conventional fixed-rate loans and adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs).
What is a good credit score by age?
Consider yourself in “good” shape if your credit score is above the average for people in your age group. Given that the average credit score for people aged 18 to 25 is 679, a score between 679 and 687 (the average for people aged 26 to 41) could be considered “good”.
You can borrow anywhere from a few thousand dollars to $100,000+ with a 620 credit score. The exact amount of money you will get depends on other factors besides your credit score, such as your income, your employment status, the type of loan you get, and even the lender.
Tier 2 provides selective supports for individuals or groups of students with some additional low-level learning, social-emotional and developmental needs. This tier adds a layer of support to a select group of students that will ultimately be impactful for all students.
Tier 2 provides intervention and support for up to 15% of students who need additional help in developing positive behaviors. In this tier, interventions include increased instruction, supervision, positive reinforcements, academic support, pre-corrections, and focus on finding the function of the behavior.
Tier 2: When a customer issue is beyond the skill of the Tier 1 staff to resolve, the issue escalates to Tier 2. Tier 2 staff have the knowledge base and skills to handle more complex customer issues and will often use remote control tools.
